So for the past few hours I have been sitting in the movie theater watchign the new Star Trek movie, and i must say without any shadow of a doubt the curse has been broken. And it hasnt been broken lightly like dropping a triquarter and breaking it, JJ Abram launched a volley of photon torpedoes at it with shields down. The movie was absolutley stunning. While there were a few things i didn't like about the movie these little things were overshadowed an engulfed by the perfect potrail of everyhting else. The visual effects were fantastic dredging up a sense of nostalgia with a brand spanking new look on it. The movie left me with a feeling of .... well  i believe william shatner said it best in Star Trek The Voyage Home "set a course mister sulu second star to the right and straight on till morning". To anyone who has had doubts about the quality of this movie i say GO WATCH IT IN THEATERS cause damnit going to warp 4 has never looked so good!

I agree whole heartedly, I loved the movie.  It was well done, the story offered something new and fresh while not going too far away from the idea and feel of Star Trek.  The humor was great and the actors were so close to the originals that is it a little scary.

Btw Bane that quote was from "The Undiscovered Country" Star Trek VI (6), the last line in the movie before the voice over of Shatner.

elf you are right i did get the wrong movie been years since i sat down and watched the original 6 movies i sometimes get them confused gonna have to Netflix them to refresh my memory

I have seen them so often, I can recite most of the lines by heart.  Luckily im not quite as hardcore as other fans :P
